Our head office is based in Hampstead, North West London, and our busy teams work behind the scenes to raise funds, increase awareness, manage finances and generally keep the organisation running.
Office volunteers provide valuable support to our teams to keep them organised and on-track. They could be proof reading materials, assisting with social media messages or maintaining databases. Some roles are several times a week, whereas others are only a few hours, but all our volunteers play a vital part in saving the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
I found myself with some free time and wanted to do something worthwhile. Anthony Nolan offered me an opportunity to get involved and I jumped at the chance.
My role is to support the Volunteer Engagement Manager and the Patient Experience team. The Patient Experience team produces a number of vital information resources for patients and their families; from leaflets explaining how we search for and match people with their donor, to handbooks about long-term recovery.
