Every person on our register could save the life of someone with blood cancer. The more people who join, the more lives we can save.
Donor recruitment events are a great way of inspiring people to join, and our lovely recruiters give us a hand doing just that.
What do our donor recruiters do?
We hold recruitment events around London and Sheffield to spread awareness about blood cancer and welcome potential donors. Our volunteers set up the waiting area, greet people warmly, hand out forms, answer basic questions and be on standby.
Our donor recruiters are:
- Warm, confident & friendly: They are friendly and approachable, and greet members of the public warmly and explain things in reassuring ways.
- Non-judgemental & diplomatic: They will always open, friendly and ready for the type of sensitive questions to be posed by the visitors. They also need to check people’s understanding of the process and commitment involved in donor registering.
- Sensitive, articulate & reliable: They need to have an eye for details and be able to communicate well with people.
- Respectful & able to maintain strict confidentiality: They are respectful towards the visitors and donors, and will help donors to give their samples.
